Storical notes: The Family of Santubaldari was legally formed on the 1st July 1974, with the Notary act of Minelli of Gubbio Rep. 68264/10123 by: Giampiero Battistelli, Ubaldo Burocchi, Gugliemo Cencetti, Mauro Tomarelli, Nazareno Paciotti, Mauro Pierotti, Raffaele Nuti, Secondo Sannipoli, Massimo Palazzari, Raoul Piccotti, Eridano Stocchi, Fausto Brugnoni, Luigi Baldelli, Aurelio Chiocci and Evelino Vagnarelli.
But the "Family" actually existed since 1965.

The Association has recognized the "legal recognition" from the President of the Region of Umbria, Germano Marri, on the 10th November 1982.
It was transformed in an organization without any aims of profit (ONLUS) with the Notary act of Biavati of Gubbio Rep. 274562/28845, on the 26th June 1998.

At its guide there have been the following Presidents:

Aims:
Uniting the ceraioli and supporters of the Cero of St. Ubaldo in a society based on valid principles of fraternity, agreement, reciprocal respect, equality and loyalty.

Protecting the civil and religious values of the Festa dei Ceri.

Respecting and making known the traditions and the history of the cero of St.Ubaldo.

Making an effort to maintain a perfect harmonious "Corsa del Cero of St.Ubaldo".

Honouring the old fervent ceraioli.


Initiatives realized:
Restoration of many places used as meeting places of the ceraioli (Taverna).

11th September 1975: There is a small statue of St. Ubaldo (a work of art of the famous eugubinian artist, Aldo Ajò) on the road between Gubbio and Perugia, in the area of Casacce-Belvedere.
The statue reminds all those who are coming from Perugia that they are entering the comune and diocese of St.Ubaldo.

In 1979: the present Seat and Taverna was bought and then restored in 1982.

In 1987: "'L Nostro Patrono", a short life story of St. Ubaldo in eugubinian dialect, was published by Piero Radicchi.

11th September 1194: for the eighth centenary of the Transfer of the body of St. Ubaldo, a new door was put on the cloister of the Basilica of St.Ubaldo and the urn in which his body is kept, was restored.

In 1994: the holy fountain of Agello, situated near the second "cappelluccia" (chapel), was rebuilt.

In 1999: they contributed to the restoration of the Statue of St.Ubaldo, at the beginning of the corso.

Exhibitions:
Second last Saturday of Carnival: "Vejone" (important big dancing party of the ceraioli and their families).

On the Sunday nearest to the 5th March: The Festa of the canonization of St. Ubaldo (5th March 1192), at the Basilica of St.Ubaldo, the investiture of the Capodieci (from 1981): in the presence of the Bishop and of the capodieci of the other ceri. On this occasion the Capitani hand over the "Stemma" (emblem), which will be sewn onto their yellow shirt to be worn on the 15th May, to the Capodieci of St.Ubaldo.

11th September: Festa della Traslazione (of the Removal of the Body), a big meeting of santubaldari and their families, after the celebration of the mass, at 18:00.

Active participation to all the moments of the Festa of the Ceri and the Festa of St.Ubaldo.

Initiatives on the programme:
             Restoration of the first cappelluccia on the Mount Ingino.
